Beat Suite, The:   A Royalty Free Production Music Library specialising in producing and providing high-quality, royalty-free production music and sounds for the multimedia, broadcast and computer games industry.

BlackFilm.com:  Is an online resource which links the Black film community while cultivating national and international audiences interested in their work. This site provides a forum for filmmakers, scholars and organizations to present information and promote artistic expression.

Black Film Magazine: A brilliant and newsworthy website, well worth the surf.

Bluesmoke:  A cheesy 70's style film series from a bunch of guys in Hull, Yorkshire. Crammed full of the right cliches and heavy on the 007, Star Wars, Lethal Weapon and Dirty Harry.

Brickfilms:  A community dedicated to the art of stop motion animation. Their main focus is the animation of plastic building toys, or bricks (LEGO, Mega Bloks, Best-Lock etc), which they call "brickfilms" (these films are also commonly called "LEGO Movies"). They also encourage other forms of animation, including 3D and Flash. On this site you will find a searchable directory of hundreds of films, contests, a busy forum, and great resources to help animators of any level in the creation of their movies.

Buyout Footage:  A full service stock footage house featuring the very best in contemporary royalty free stock footage, full-length public domain films and archive film stock footage.  Their stock video footage is easy to preview and purchase directly from the web site.

Canyon Cinema, Inc.:  Beginning in the late 1950s, a growing movement brought together independent film artists whose work reflected a remarkable diversity in style and content. Variously called avante garde, underground, and experimental, these artists' work shared a vision of filmmaking as a form of personal expression, free from the demands and constraints of commercial filmmaking conventions.

Caryn.com:  This filmmaking site is intended to help you understand the filmmaking process and how to make your own movie. You'll find filmmaking tips for independent filmmakers interested in digital filmmaking, guerilla filmmaking, documentary filmmaking with filmmaking articles that focus on independent filmmaking as its been achieved by successful indie filmmakers, tips on DV filmmaking, finding low cost filmmaking equipment and services for those interested in low budget filmmaking or no budget filmmaking, information about filmmaking courses, film financing, film distribution, filmmaking discussion forums, film festivals and so much more.

CrewPix.com:  Is an online photo album for the film community featuring hundreds of pictures submitted by film crews around the world! CrewPix currently receives a Million hits per month.

Center for Independent Documentary:   Beginning its 20th year in collaborating with independent producers to create films and videos on issues of contemporary social and cultural concern. These programs have been broadcast nationally and locally on public and cable television, won numerous awards, and all are in distribution nationwide to educational markets.

DigitalIdiots.com:  The best place to learn about digital filmmaking. Tutorials on every aspect of Digital filmmaking.

Dogme95:   A collective of purist film directors founded in Copenhagen in spring 1995.  Be sure to read 'The Vow of Chastity'

Dog Pile, The:  Presented by Malamute Inc., is an online magazine featuring essays, articles, and commentary by a variety of independent filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, and film lovers. Launched in April, 2001, The Dog Pile includes film reviews, how-to articles, editorial pieces, filmmaker profiles, and weekly columns, as well as entertainment industry news, independent film links, and the ubiquitous celebrity of the week.

Film Arts Foundation:  Is a non-profit leader in the media arts field, providing comprehensive training, equipment, information, consultations, and exhibition opportunities to independent filmmakers. Now in its twenty-eight year, Film Arts has more than 3,400 members working in film, video, and multimedia, and is the largest regional organization of independent producers in the country.

Filmmaker.com:  A podge of information, links, forums featuring help for the indie makers of film.

Filmmaking.net:  A reference and community for the new and independent filmmaker. Filmmaking.net is the latest evolution of one of the Net's oldest filmmaking resources - the Internet Filmmaker's FAQ. The IF-FAQ is still available, but so is a great deal more of film and movie-making information.

Film Score Monthly:  Is one of the leading voices in film music appreciation. FSM was founded as a one-page newsletter sent to 11 people by editor/publisher Lukas Kendall in 1990, and has since grown to encompass a hardcopy magazine, prolific CD label, this website, and various other publishing and documentary efforts.

FilmSecrets:  The goal of Film Secrets is to educate people, especially those with little or no film training. All of the information on their page is unique and carefully selected.

FilmSound.org:  Film Sound Theory - Many users of FilmSound.org share with me a common goal which is the love for film sound in all of its forms.

Film Threat:  Based on the print magazine, this excellent site contains much about the indie scene, and more.

Film Underground:  Film Underground is a repository of information designed to help the aspiring independent filmmaker.

Fotosearch:  Has nearly one million images from 90 vendors all at one site with out any browsing fees, sign up fees, or browsing restrictions.  There also is an advanced search which allows users to narrow down their search results in order to find the perfect image fast!

Flux, The:  With over a thousand online resources and growing, you're bound to find whatever it is you need.

GotFootage.com:  Is home to one of the largest royalty-free stock footage and video libraries on the internet. The video clips are available in several formats, at extremely competitive prices. Please browse their collection and decide for yourself...

Independent Feature Project:  IFP provides services to independent filmmakers of varying levels of experience, which assist them in expressing their unique points of view. It facilitates a connection between the creative and business communities. Other goals of the organization are to expand and educate the audience for independent film, and to encourage the diversity and quality of independent production.

Independent Film & Television Alliance, The:  The Independent Film & Television Alliance (“I.F.T.A.” or “the Alliance”) was established in 1980 as the American Film Marketing Association (“AFMA”).  Its first members were a group of distributors and sales agents whose main goal was to expand the independent film business by creating a world-class trade show, the American Film Market (AFM). Today, the association has evolved into the trade association for the independent film and television industry worldwide, while the AFM concurrently has become the largest international film market in the world. 

Independent Lens:  A resource site for filmmakers, and fans who want to know more about what goes into the making of indie films.

IndependantVideo.com:  This site has some excellent resources for screenwriters, including two sections - Technical Resources and Marketing Resources.

IndieFilm.com:  The Independent Filmmaker's Forum BBS first went on-line in June of 1993. It served the needs of the aspiring independent film community in Los Angeles for nearly five years, gathering subscribers from around the globe. They created the alt.movies.independent newsgroup and the publisher of INDIE: The Electronic Newsletter for Independent Filmmakers. As a BBS, the IFF is now gone forever. It is their hope to bring back many of the features of the IFF with this homepage, and to make those features available to a wider group of users through the Internet.

Indie Films:  The Hollywood-based network that helps independent filmmakers find investors, grants, funds and distributors. 

Indie Filmmakers:  A short list of only some of the many indie filmmakers sites on the internet.

IndieClub:  If you have a passion for making movies using film and video, and are looking for others with similar interests, this is the site for you. A premiere site for networking others with the same interests, and who share the desire associated with making a great film or video.

IndieTalk:  An online community for independent filmmakers. Network with cast and crew in your area - Find festival info - Watch films in the Screening Room - Join the discussions!

IndieWire:  From its email publications and push technology to the provocative exploration of the concepts of defining independence and doing it yourself, this site offers and cultivates insight for an international group of indie artists, producers, and enthusiasts. It provides focused, concise content as an empowering tool and space for interactive and informed discussion, reflection, and opinion.

iNet Film:  The Internet film community, offering resources and free viewing of submitted indie films.

Inside Reel, The:  Is an award winning nationally broadcast television program. The television program covers the film industry and features celebrity interviews, behind the scenes featurettes, industry commentary, filmmaking tutorials and festival coverage.  

Kemps Film and Television Production Services:  The Kemps site lists over 35,000 production services companies, crew and technicians from 65 countries worldwide. It is carefully researched and updated every year and is a unique resource for film and TV program makers the world over. And best of all, it's free to access.

Lights Online Film School:  Enroll in Light's online's film school and learn how to create your own indie productions.

Magic Club Productions:  Independent film production company based in Boston MA

Microcinema International:  Their mission is to curate, exhibit, distribute and promote a new era of emerging and innovate international moving image artists whose deeply personal and culturally relevant works are typically marginalized by the mainstream entertainment industry.

Netribution:  UK film industry news. Site has not been updated since February, 2002...but the webmaster is looking for a way to fund the site. Still some worthy assets to be found on this site.

No-Budget Film Network, The:  A database of individuals with varying skills and interests, who have some experience in the film production process or who would like to become involved. You will find people representing many areas of interest: from actors to hair stylists, special effects to editing. There are directors, producers, screenwriters and other professionals, as well as non-professionals looking for a break.

Planet Shark Productions Shark's popular global showbiz website has 1000's of industry links and an Industry Insider Forum that's packed with jobs, A&R gigs, showbiz events, resumes, parties, casting calls & more.

ProjectX:  Digital is the future of motion pictures. Project X is a unique resource for film-makers who wish to explore all aspects of digital technology for cinema; digital production, post production and exhibition.

RonDexter.com:  Straight answers to frequent and seldom-asked film and video questions you will not find answered anywhere else.

Short Films Wanted:  A comprehensive list of announcements and calls from everyone who wants your short film.

South African Film Site, The:  Is the largest filmmaking website in South Africa and Africa with the aim of inspiring, informing and resourcing South African independent filmmakers. Its primary target is the creative filmmaking community including film and television producers, directors and writers. The SA Film Site serves around 35 000 page views a month. While it is primarily aimed at a South Africa/African audience a significant number of visitors are from other parts of the world.

Studentfilms.com:  The best on-line community for student filmmakers. Broadcast your film to peers. Learn from feedback. Post questions on the Discussion Board.

Underground Film:  Is a non-profit whose mission is to create an online film community. We are committed, above all, to showing the work of independent filmmakers, a sector of the creative community that has little or no access to the traditional tools of distribution.

UnHollywood:  The kind that have been shaking up the entertainment industry recently, from El Mariachi to Blair Witch.  Non-studio movies, made with decidedly non-studio methods - and non-studio budgets - that have nevertheless managed to attain major commercial success.  How can I make such a movie ... and how can you?  Finding the answer is what this site is all about.

AFI Fest:  Is one of the nation's fastest-growing film events and the premier international film festival in Los Angeles. Atlantic City Film Festival:  Showcases the talents of the latest and the greatest filmmakers and offers a chance for movie buffs to experience the art of film.From feature-length films to two-minute animations, the festival runs the gamut of cinematic creativity. Boston Film Festival:  This film festival has become one of the cultural events that annually launches the fall film season.

Chicago Underground Film Festival:  The CUFF is an annual event showcasing independent, experimental and documentary films from around the world.

Denver Film Society:  The Denver Film Society is a non-profit cultural institution in Colorado dedicated to the celebration and cultivation of film as art.

Ottawa B-Movie Explosion Film Festival:  Ottawa, Canada based film fest dedicated to B-movies.
